Final systems Fibreglass Resin Kit is a polyester resin kit, containing; resin, hardener, glass fibre, mixing brush and plastic mixing tub. Can be used to repair, construct and create. It is resilient, permanent, and waterproof! Developed for the repair of holes, splits, cracks and tears. Suitable for use on most materials including metal, wood, hard plastic, bricks etc. Ideal for use as a construction material to manufacture storage tanks etc. Offers perfect adhesion to most surfaces and is a solid base for most paint systems.
- Kit Contents: Includes 1kg Lloyds-approved polyester resin, 1m x 0.94m sheet of 300gsm high grade chopped strand mat, and 30ml MEKP catalyst supplied with a measuring syringe.
- Application: Suitable for fibreglass repairs in automotive, marine (due to Lloyds Register approval), and general industrial use. Ideal for repairing car panels, marine hulls, and other GRP surfaces.
- Surface Compatibility: Designed for use on fibreglass and other GRP (Glass Reinforced Plastic) surfaces. Not suitable for application on bare metal or plastics without surface preparation.
- Resin Type: General-purpose polyester resin, Lloyds approved for marine usage, offering a good strength-to-weight ratio and reliable curing characteristics.
- Matting: Chopped strand mat is 300gsm in weight—suitable for structural reinforcement, crack bridging, or surface-building in fibreglass laminates.
- Mixing Instructions: Catalyst must be mixed with resin prior to application. Follow proportion guidelines on packaging carefully (typically around 1–3% MEKP by resin weight).
- Safety Information: Contains solvents and is flammable. Use in well-ventilated area. Always wear protective gloves, goggles, and respirator when handling. Catalyst (MEKP) is corrosive—handle with care.
- Storage: Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and sources of ignition. Keep containers tightly sealed. Do not store mixed resin and catalyst together.
- Environmental Notes: Dispose of uncured materials and used containers in accordance with local hazardous waste regulations.
